Yes, God is perfect, complete and without flaw in His character or deeds. This means we can trust Him fully: "The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he" (Deuteronomy 32:4). God cannot make mistakes. It would be contrary to His very nature. God lacks nothing. No one can call Him into question, for there is no one like Him.
God is perfect and He Himself sets that standard of perfection. God cannot be found to be flawed because it would mean that another standard of perfection had been established, that there were something higher than Him, which would make that thing god. Psalm 19:7 says "The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." For all of time, mankind has been trying to exalt themselves and their own opinions above God's. They make accusations of God making a mistake or claim that they could do a better job running things than He is doing. Perspectives like these are prideful because they are essentially an attempt to place ourselves as humans on God's throne.
Every quality of God and decision that He makes is perfect. He is faithful, just, pure, kind, and loving. He has provided us with His Word, which gives us glimpses into all of His attributes. His Word is also perfect: "The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times" (Psalm 12:6). His way is perfect and His words are always true: "Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him" (Proverbs 30:5; see also Psalm 18:30).
Jesus is the Son of God and He lived a sinless life here on earth. As believers in Jesus Christ as Lord, we have the charge to live like He did: "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:48). Of course, only Jesus is perfect, but as Christians, we have the power of God at work within us through the presence of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:3–14; Philippians 2:12–13; 2 Peter 1:3–8). We see evidence of the transformative work of the Spirit when we see the fruit of the Spirit present in our lives: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" (Galatians 5:22—23). The Spirit helps us to become more and more like God as we follow Christ. We can have total confidence in God's Word, His character, and His ability to lead and guide us throughout our lives as we walk with Him through both joys and hardships (Psalm 23).
